WHY STOKED GOATS?

Stoked Goats was born from a simple belief: healthy landscapes create safer, stronger communities.

After decades of adventure, raising our family, and building careers we loved, we found ourselves searching for work that was more connected to the land and more meaningful to the future. Lara's experience in wildfire mitigation and community preparedness revealed something remarkable—goats and sheep aren't just incredible animals, they're one of nature's most effective tools for reducing wildfire risk, restoring ecosystems, and improving the health of the land.

Long before Stoked Goats existed, we dreamed of having goats. Then tragedy changed everything.

Losing our son forever changed the way we looked at life. We realized there was no better time to build something that reflected our values: caring for the land, serving our communities, working alongside animals, and creating a life with purpose.

Our path here wasn't conventional. We met in Mexico in the 1990s, where Mike built a career in cave diving, exploration, and SCUBA instruction while Lara worked in film, television, marketing, and nonprofit leadership. Together, we founded Nohoch Productions before returning to the United States to raise our family. Those experiences taught us how to solve complex problems, build lasting relationships, and tackle challenges with creativity and determination.

Today, Stoked Goats combines those experiences with science-based targeted grazing to help landowners, public agencies, HOAs, vineyards, utilities, and communities reduce wildfire fuels, restore native landscapes, and improve ecosystem health.

Every project is about more than clearing vegetation. It's about creating healthier land, protecting homes and habitats, and helping build resilient communities—one goat at a time.
